Wrex AntiCheat Online Tutorial
1. What is Wrex ?
Wrex is a dedicated AntiCheat made for UT2004 and UT3.
In order to join a server protected by Wrex Anticheat you will have to download and run Wrex Anticheat Client, so here's the tutorial step by step to get it working.
2. Download Wrex
You can download Wrex here : http://getwrex.mangemesboules.fr/
Wrex has been validated successfully by 43 antivirus without any virus or malware as you can see on this link, but in case your FireWall/Antivirus alerts you about a possible risk or blocks it either when downloading or running Wrex, try adding Wrex to the exclusions list of your Antivirus, don't worry this would just be a false alert.
3. Run Wrex
First point, you have to close your game before running Wrex, this is important if you want to avoid useless kicks when joining a server protected by Wrex and will save you a lot of time, so remember to close your game.
If Wrex doesnt launch when you try to run it, be sure you have .NET Framework 2.0 (download link) installed if you are using Windows Xp.
4. Language, Terms of Use and Privacy Policy
First, select your language and then click the "Continue" icon.
Then, read the terms of use, tick "I accept the terms of use" and click the "Continue" icon.
Read the privacy policy, tick "I accept the privacy policy" and click the "Continue" icon.
5. Start your scan
At this state you should be on the "Tutorial" tab, so click the "Scan" icon.
Click "Start scan".
Wait untill the scan is over. This process can take several minutes depending on the speed of your computer and hard drives, so don't worry and wait untill you hear the little voice telling you the scan is completed.
Once the 'Tasks' says you are ready to play, you can click the 'Hide' icon to minimize Wrex to tray.
6. Let's Play !
Now you can launch your favorite game and join any server protected by Wrex.
Remember to keep Wrex running as long as you plan to play on servers protected by Wrex, otherwise you'll be kicked from the server.
7. You want Wrex to run in Automatic Mode ?
If you want to have wrex running without any prompting you can edit the shortcut with the options below :
"-agree" skips the agreement text.
"-language=" select the language.
"-autoscan" launches the scan automatically at start.
"-launch=" launches the matching game specified in the game tab (you can locate your game manually if the one found is wrong or none was found) right after the scan has ended.
1. So simply create a shortcut to your "Wrex Anti-Cheat Launcher.exe".
2. Right click on the shortcut and click properties.
3. In the "Target" field replace "MyPathToWrex\Wrex Anti-Cheat Launcher.exe".
with "MyPathToWrex\Wrex Anti-Cheat Launcher.exe" -agree -language=en -autoscan -launch=ut3 for example.
4. Click OK.
5. You can put a copy of this shortcut in your startup folder so you'll be ready to run your game with Wrex soon after your computer starts.
